History

  • Communication was maintained and expanded with the new 20 BH NGOs, the diaspora and friends from Catalonia, Belgium, the Netherlands, France, Germany, Turkey, Italy and the USA who showed interest in the situation in the Association.
  • Two editions of the book "Don't shoot" were printed and according to the wishes of the founder of the Association and the author of the book, the late Jovan Divjak, the conditions were created for new revenues that will be directed to scholarships for children and youth in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
  • Presentation of the book "Don't shoot!" by Jovan Divjak, on the first anniversary of his death in the Town Hall on April 8, 2022. with direct transmission on TVSA and through the Zoom platform (with translation).
  • Funds for 2,700 monthly scholarships for all user groups in the amount of 256,200 KM have been secured from donations, sponsorships and funds obtained from membership fees, economic and project activities.
  • In 2022, 17 years of work on overcoming PTSD with women from Visoko and Hadžić was concluded. The project "Evaluation of the PTSD Project" was implemented as the final result of the psychosocial rehabilitation project that was carried out for 17 years thanks to the financial support of CCFD from Paris.
  • The association supported primary school children of returnee families in the area of the Municipality of Srebrenica, but also in the City of Banja Luka and the City of Prijedor, in the amount of 14,330.69 KM (192 beneficiaries) through the purchase of textbooks, school supplies and tablets.
  • Initiative for allocation of Jovan Divjak Street in Bosanska Krupa and Sarajevo.
  • A mural with the image of Jovan Divjak on the "Children's House" in Novo Sarajevo.
  • The anniversary of the death of Jovan Divjak was marked in an appropriate way.
  • Presentation of the book "Don't shoot!" in Frankfurt and Dusseldorf in October and November 2022.
  • Established contacts with over 20 BH non-governmental organizations from abroad.
  • Opened "Education Factory" - HUB (inspiring work environment) for primary and secondary school students, members of vulnerable groups from the area of the Municipality of Novo Sarajevo, as well as scholarship holders of the Association, 21.11.2022. years.

2022.

  • The Association suffered a great loss on April 8, 2021, when the initiator of the idea, one of the founders and executive director of the Association - Jovan Divjak left us.
  • Organization of the funeral and commemoration of the executive director in cooperation with Vladimir Divjak, Dino Mustafić, Duška Jurišić, Arijana Saračević, Vildana Selimbegović, Danis Tanović, Minko Muftić, Muhammed Bojadža, Mehmed Agić and many other friends and scholars.
  • At the XX Assembly of the Association, a decision was made to change the name of the Association to "Education builds Bosnia and Herzegovina - Jovan Divjak". The administrative work related to the name change has been completed.

  • The city of Sarajevo declared us an association of special importance, and the Municipality of Novo Sarajevo an association of public interest. In 2021, the association received the Golden Plaque of the Municipality of Novo Sarajevo and the "Želimir Vidović Keli" award for humanity in sports.
  • During 2021, the building was reconstructed (concrete slab) and renovated (painting and changing the floors).
  • Participation in the working group of the program "Legal framework for philanthropy"; participation in activities involving the City of Sarajevo in the preparation of the candidacy for the 2030 Winter Olympic Games "Barcelona-Pyrenees-Sarajevo".
  • Work on the initiative to create a monument to the woman of Sarajevo.

2021.

  • Thanks to the seriousness and responsibility of the working staff, positive results were achieved in the work of the "Education Builds BiH" Association in the most difficult year since its formation due to the fact that the COVID-19 pandemic was declared in March 2020.
  • In the first half of 2020, we awarded scholarships to 302 children and young people, and in the second half to 277.
  • Thanks to the psychologist Edina Mahmutović and the employees of the Association Mersihi Turudija and Melina Dželović, the project "Supporting the activities of the Association "Education builds BiH" with a focus on overcoming post-traumatic consequences in children, young people and parents/guardians" was fully realized with women victims of war from Visoko and Hadžić (40 beneficiaries at 26 workshops), with young people from Sarajevo (10 beneficiaries at 12 workshops). Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, several online workshops were held for former beneficiaries of the project from Sarajevo.
  • Due to the pandemic, to our regret, we did not implement the Summer Vacation at Lake Boračko project, as well as the visits of many groups of children and young people, mostly from Italy, but also from other countries.
  • The "Safet Zec with Children and Young People" calendar project for 2021 was successfully implemented, the sale of which secured 30 one-year scholarships and funds for the functioning of the Association.
  • As part of "T.E.A.", the veterans' cooperative, work was done on harvesting raspberries, planting and picking blueberries, and the employees put a lot of effort into maintaining the cooperative.
  • Reproductions of Safet Zeca's artwork from the 2020 Calendar, printed as postcards. In view of the economic situation caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the executive director and the working staff have decided that the calendar for 2021 will not be printed, but work will be done on the "Safet Zec with children and young people" postcard project.
  • Changes were made to the Statute, accepted and certified by the Ministry of Justice of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

2020.

  • The Executive Director and the working staff analyzed the implementation of the Work Plan in 2018, and the priority tasks for 2019 were determined, with a focus on celebrating the 25th anniversary of the formation of the Association - under the mantra of the Fourth Century of the Triumph of Philanthropy.
  • In January, during a visit to the City of Girona (Catalonia) with the mayor, Mr. Miquel Noquer I Planas, an agreement was reached on donating funds for the implementation of the PTSD program in 2019.
  • The regular distribution of scholarships was carried out in the first half of 2019 for the users of the Association in the amount of about 130,000 KM.
  • Members of the Association (6) participated in the implementation of the "Peace Education Campus" project in Milan, led by Don Giovanni Salatino.
  • In the first six months, the Association was visited by twenty groups of children, young people and the elderly from Italy, Denmark, and the Netherlands (over 300 people), and on that occasion they were told about the work of the Association and the current problems of education in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
  • Mirsad Čabaravdić donated KM 10,000 to the Association, which will be used for scholarships for 10 users of the Association in the 2019/2020 school year. year.
  • The project "Supporting the activities of the Association with the main focus on overcoming the post-traumatic consequences of children, young people and parents/guardians" continued with success, with women from Visoko and Hadžić, as well as with a group of young people participating in the project for the first time.
  • In the media, we marked the death anniversaries of prominent members of the Association, Mrs. Madžira Pavlović, Mr. Veljko Droca and Petar Skert.
  • The "Winter Sports - EYOF 2019" calendar was printed in 20,000 copies, and funds were allocated from the sale for scholarships for 23 young people, beneficiaries of the Association.

2019.

  • "Windmills" of the "Education builds Bosnia and Herzegovina" association, despite the frequent lack of wind in the sails, thanks to the successful work of the management system (Assembly, Management and Supervisory Board), staff and significant engagement of members, volunteers, business entities and individuals, domestic and foreign donors successfully completes the annual work plan.
  • In the course of nine months, 314 elementary school students, high school students and students of all categories (victims of war, disabled, talented, Roma national minority and those in social need) received scholarships worth 316,400 KM.
  • The project "Supporting the activities of the Association "Education Builds BiH" with a focus on overcoming post-traumatic consequences in children, young people and parents/guardians" was fully implemented in the city of Sarajevo, the Municipality of Visoko and, since September, the Municipality of Hadžići.
  • The number of educational projects in which 65 users took part increased, and the implementers were volunteers of the Association.
  • A summer vacation was organized in cooperation with the Neretva Konjic scout detachment for members of the Association, "Oases" (Sarajevo), Drina (Fojnica), users from Visoko, Skelano, Križević, Orahovac and Vareš.
  • In 2018, 15 users of the Association participated in international projects for young people in France, Italy and Germany, acquiring and expanding knowledge about history, culture, art, social life of European countries and affirming the Association as a non-governmental organization that strives to provide children and young people with opportunities to be educated on the foundations of the modern European education system.
  • A wall calendar for 2018 has been printed with motifs of good behavior in society - from the doorstep, through behavior on the street, at work and elsewhere. The "Etiquette" calendar was printed in 25,000 copies, and from the total income from the sold calendars, funds were allocated for scholarships for 23 young people, beneficiaries of the Association. The fact that the number of calendar purchases has decreased compared to previous years does not discourage the working staff. We build windmills, not walls!! Thank you to everyone who showed empathy towards children and young people who are users of various services of the Association.
  • At the annual Assembly of the Association held on June 23, 2018. year, the members of the Assembly adopted the Statute of the Association, which foresees the management-executive structure: the assembly and the executive director, without the administrative and supervisory board. Each member, each according to their determination, contributed to the successful and socially recognizable work of the Association.
  • The board of directors supported the formation of the Veterans' Cooperative "T.E.A" for the "Malinjak Girona" project, which is making great efforts to make this project come to life.

2018.

  • 324 children and young people were awarded scholarships with a total value of 304,030 KM. Of this number, the information about 12 years of scholarships for children of the Roma national minority is significant, as it is also important that 77 Roma beneficiaries from the school year 2016/17. continued education in 2017/18. year.
  • The project "Overcoming post-traumatic consequences through psychosocial rehabilitation, recreation and education" was successfully implemented with the Association's beneficiaries (mothers/guardians from Sarajevo and Visoko and young people - scholarship recipients), with a monetary value of 47,640 KM. In 2017, 40 mothers and 20-25 young people participated in the project.
  • The project "Let's be humanists - the differences are in our heads" was implemented for two groups of Roma in Kakanj and Visoko in the value of 5,618 KM.
    05. The XVI Assembly of the Association was held, where reports on the work of the Association in the previous period and financial reports were adopted. The members of the Assembly accepted the previous Annual Work Plan of the Association.
  • The calendar for 2017 "National costumes in Bosnia and Herzegovina" was printed in 25,000 copies and the sale generated income for 29 one-year scholarships. The number of sold calendars decreased by 15% compared to the previous year, which is a warning.
  • For the third year, the "Perspective" project has been successfully implemented in cooperation with Mebius Film and with the financial support of the American NED.
  • In 2017, the Association also participated in the Diplomatic Winter Bazaar, and as one of the supported organizations, we received a donation of 15,000 KM.
  • The agreement between the Association and Megamix doo on the scholarship of 20 beneficiaries in the 2017/2018 school year has been concluded. year
  • During the year, the Association visited over 15 associations of children, young people and the elderly from Italy, Belgium, Germany, and members of the Association participated in international exchange (International Peace Summer School, France; Vacances Europe Jeunesse, France), and the working staff visited associations and schools in Switzerland and Italy.
  • Unfortunately, even in 2017, the long-standing problem of volunteer work and participation in the mandatory sale of calendars remains.
  • Due to the increased volume of tasks in the Association from September 1, 2017. Ms. Melina Dželović, a long-time scholarship holder and completed master's degree in psychology, is employed.

2017.

  • 343 pupils and students were awarded scholarships worth 339,290 KM.
  • Eight-day summer vacation at Lake Boračka for 105 children and young people from the Association, Institute "Drin" Fojnica, Association "Oaza" Sarajevo, the Red Cross of the municipality of Novo Sarajevo, the Roma Association "Budi mi prijatil" Visoko, Choisy Le Roi France, the Ferial Association Sarajevo , groups of young people from Prijedor and members of the "Neretva" Konjic Scout Detachment
  • The project "Overcoming post-traumatic syndrome through psychosocial rehabilitation, recreation and education for children, young people and parents/guardians" was implemented with high quality for mothers and children of war victims from Sarajevo and Visoko.
  • The implementation of the "Malinjak" project has begun, with the intention of providing employment to unemployed mothers and children. Unfortunately, the response of volunteers for this project is small.
  • 25,000 copies of the "Old Crafts in Bosnia and Herzegovina" calendar for 2016 were printed, and the income for 36 one-year scholarships was generated. Unfortunately, a large number of companies - earlier customers did not respond to the invitation to buy this year.
  • Through individual donations from Chicago, Zurich, Bosanska Dubica, Sweden, Australia, Japan and Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Association received about twenty scholarships for the 2016/2017 academic year. year.
  • For this year, a calendar called "Old Crafts in Bosnia and Herzegovina" was printed in 25,000 copies. The sale secured 36 scholarships.
  • The highlight of the twenty-two years of existence and activities of the Association, its members, administrative bodies and staff is the recognition of the City of Sarajevo - the Sixth of April award, which obliges us to continue to persevere in the realization of the mission Children of War Victims - our permanent concern.
  • The association was visited by: Ibrahim Hadžibajrić, mayor of Stari Grad municipality; Muharem Šabić, Muharem Fišo, Elvir Kazazović, Mujo Fišo, ministers in the Sarajevo Canton Government; Ali Riza Akbas, general manager of Turkish Ziratbank BH d.d. and Andrej Krawczyk, Ambassador of Poland to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Elmedin Konaković, Prime Minister and Amela Dautbašić, Minister in the Government of Sarajevo Canton, Milan Dunović, Vice President of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
  • The twelfth agreement on scholarships for students of the Roma minority in the 2016/17 school year was concluded with the Open Society Fund of Bosnia and Herzegovina. year and held a round table with Roma scholarship holders "I study to become a useful member of society".
  • The stability of the Association is contributed by long-term donors and friends, such as: Open Society BiH Fund, Fund-Project Pavao Jusuf Urban-Ibruljević, UG Union of veterans JOB DF PIO, CCFD-Terre solidaire (Paris, France), Emmaus–Grenoble (France), Bud Import-Vendomatik, Grafičar promet and many others listed in the attachment, as well as the new: Cities of Barcelona and Girona, and regular and occasional members of the Association.   • The XV Assembly of the Association was held, reporting and planning documents were adopted and personnel changes were made in the bodies of the Assembly.
  • The Association was visited by a delegation from Barcelona: Raul Romeva i Ruida, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Catalonia, Manel Vila, honorary citizen of Sarajevo and Pere Vila i Fulcara, president of the province of Girona in Catalonia .
  • An agreement was concluded with the BiH Lottery on the purchase of the Association's calendar and the provision of funds for 20 scholarships per year.

2016.

  • Last year's scholarship level was maintained with an average of 370 scholarship recipients worth 363,920 KM.
  • On April 6, at the proposal of the Association "Education builds BiH", Manuel Vila - philanthropist and humanist, employee of the Barcelona City Assembly, promoter of the District City to City Foundation and a great friend of the Association, became the recipient of the Honorary Citizen of Sarajevo award.
  • Summer vacation at Lake Boračka with 120 participants took place from July 8 to 16, 2015. This time, the users of the Association "Oaza", Institute "Drin" Fojnica, Red Cross Novo Sarajevo, Primary School Mejdan Vareš, ORI "Budi mi prijatelj" Visoko, Association "Mala Sirena" Zavidovići and Scout Detachment "Neretva" Konjic were also on vacation this time. Unfortunately, the scholarship holders of the Association do not show sufficient interest in summer vacations at Lake Boračko.
  • We participated in the implementation of projects of other organizations: the International School of Peace in Germany, with 6 participants, and at the "Falaise a la Page" Festival in France, with three participants.
  • During the year, the planned activities of the project "Overcoming PTSD through psychosocial rehabilitation and education" were realized, thanks to the ten-year support of the CCFD (Comite catholique contra la Faim et pour le Development (France).
  • Workshops were realized in Lake Boračko, Igman, Vlašić and Zenica , while one part was realized in the premises of the Association, and visits to the theater and cinema were organized.
  • We participated in the renovation of sports halls and toilets in the municipalities of Srednje and Olovo and donated sports equipment to these schools.
  • The Calendar 2015 project - "Good Behavior - Etiquette" provided 42 scholarships to user groups, and 25,000 copies were printed.
    It is a sad fact that for scholarship in 2015/2016. 527 candidates were registered, and the Association has funds for 370 scholarships.
  • The stability and sustainability of the Association are contributed by constant donors and friends such as: Comite catholique contre la Faim et pour developpment (France), Emmaus, Sassenage (France), Open Society BiH Fund, Catholic Relief Services and others, such as 353 memberships in the Association, and information in the media, especially "Oslobođenja" and TVSA.
  • During the year, the association was visited by 12 groups of high school students and students from Italy, France, Belgium, US cadets, Corrado Altran, John Moore, veterans from Poland, ministers of the Sarajevo Canton Government: Muharem Fišo, Elvir Kazazvović and Muharem Šabić, Fatima Spahović, Julie Biro , Florent Schaeffer, Brigitte Schaller-Shoepf, Tobias Buchler, Edina Rešidović, Branka Pavlović, International School "Pravnik".

2015.

  • The staff worked on the implementation of the XX Anniversary Program: created a TV spot, the Association's festive song, a billboard on the Association's building, badges, diplomas, jubilee awards, flags, and on the creation of the XX Anniversary Almanac in the atmosphere of children and young people.
  • As part of the implementation of the project "Overcoming post-traumatic consequences through psychosocial rehabilitation, recreation and education for children/youth and parents/guardians", workshops were held in Igman, Vlašić and Maglaj.
    Mr. Stjepan Mesić, former president of the Republic of Croatia, visited the association and expressed his congratulations for all that the association has done over the past twenty years.
  • At the suggestion of the Association, Tilman Zulch was awarded the title of Honorary Citizen of Sarajevo on April 6, 2014. years.
  • The digital magazine PC Školarac III, authored by Mira Pandur, has been completed.
  • To the Executive Director 17.03.2014. in Barcelona, the "Peacebuilder 2013" award was presented by the International Peace Institute, Barcelona.
  • Seven groups of pupils, students and teachers from Denmark, Italy, Germany, Norway and Merhamet Germany visited the Association.
  • Smajo Vilić donated 5,000 KM to the Association to mark the 20th anniversary.
  • The most significant success is the survival of the Association and the realization of the monthly and annual work plans of both the Board of Directors and the executive body, i.e. the staff: Mersiha Turudij and Edin Bećarević, two contract employees (Mehmed Agić and Jovan Divjak) and Emina Pavica.
  • The 20th anniversary of the Association (1994-2014) was marked very successfully: XIII regular assembly, ceremonial academy and concert of the Sarajevo Philharmonic on the occasion of 20 years of existence and activity of the Association.
  • 41,000 KM was set aside for the implementation of the 20th anniversary celebration and the printing of the 2014 Association Monograph and promotional material, which is part of the legacy of the late Pavo Jusuf Urban - Ibruljević.

  • We fully implemented the project "Overcoming post-traumatic syndrome through psychosocial support, education and creative development" with 30 children and their parents from Sarajevo and Visoko in Sarajevo, Igman, Vlašić, Mostar, Borački Jezera, Maglaj and Goražde for a total duration of approx. 250 hours.
  • In cooperation with the scout detachment "Neretva" Konjic, they realized the project "Summer 2014" in which children and young people from our Association, "Zavoda "Drin" Fojnica, Association "Oaza" Sarajevo, Roma Association "Budi mi prijatelj" Visoko participated, activist Red Cross Novo Sarajevo and Scout Detachment "Zvijezda" Vareš.
  • At the ceremonial academy, numerous recognitions were awarded to deserving members, donors, sponsors, partners and friends, which had a positive effect.
  • The association achieved a budget in the amount of 1,100,000 KM, of which about 400,000 KM was set aside for scholarships for children victims of war, disabled children, children of the Roma national minority, talented children and children in social need. By the way, in the previous 20 years, 5,705 children and young people were awarded scholarships, for which 5,110,685 KM were invested.
  • The association published the Autobiography of academician prof. Dr. Vlatko Doleček, who donated 200 copies of the book "From Pedestrian Pupil to Academician" for scholarships for orphan students.
  • On the occasion of the twentieth anniversary of the Association, a 2014 calendar entitled "Twenty Years in the Service of Children and Youth" was printed in 28,000 copies, the sale of which 45 scholarships were provided for children and young people.

2014.

  • The Association made Proposals for awarding the name of the street named after Pavao Urbana-Jusuf Ibruljević, the April 6 Award of the City of Sarajevo to Edin Džeka and renewed the candidacy of Tilman Zulch for honorary citizen of the City of Sarajevo and the Initiative for awarding the Sarajevo Canton Plaque to Redžad Čatić, the president of the Association's Board of Directors.
  • Representatives of the Association visited Damir Marjanović, Minister of Education of Sarajevo Canton, Emir Hrenovica, Minister of Economy of Sarajevo Canton and the Municipality of Novi Grad, attended the Ceremonial Session of the Municipality of Visoko, and at the invitation of the Rijeka Council of National Minorities, 3 members of the Association stayed in Croatia.

  • A contract was concluded between the Embassy of the Czech Republic and the Association on support for the Roma national minority through the equipping of the primary school in Visoko, as well as the procurement of textbooks and school supplies for Roma students.

  • As part of the psychosocial rehabilitation project, the theatrical performance "What we did" was realized in the Chamber Theater, the "Pavao Urban - Jusuf Ibruljević" Fund was presented to the public; organized by the Association, the books "Expecting Truth and Justice" by Jovan Divjak and "Steps" by Arnela Kordić were presented.
  • Representatives of the Association participated in the 6th Diaspora Congress, Pula, Croatia.
    At the invitation of Kemal Baysak, honorary consul of BiH, 2 members of the Association stayed in Turkey.
  • Representatives of the Association attended the celebration of 10 years of work and existence of the FBiH Employers' Association and on that occasion received a donor's check worth 10,000 KM.
  • 20 volunteers of the Association participated in the organization of the Diplomatic Winter Bazaar.
    Jovan Divjak, executive director, visited BH Club Chicago, USA by invitation.
  • From the funds of the "Mara foundation" project, the Association distributed 154 sets of school supplies and technical equipment to the regional schools of Berić, Bogušići and Sadba in Goražde.
  • From the donation of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, sports equipment and school supplies were distributed to Roma users; from the donation of NK Željezničar, sets of school supplies were distributed to elementary school students in Sarajevo; in Olovo and Visoko students were given accessories and sports equipment.

2010.

  • At the 11th session of the Management Board, the orientation plan and the program plan and the program for marking the 10th Assembly of the Association and the 15th anniversary of the Association under the motto: "Fifteen years in the service of children 1994-2009" were discussed and adopted.
  • The association is involved in the project "Roads of Friendship: from Sarajevo to Sarajevo". The organizer is Riccardo Muti, whose orchestra toured Sarajevo in 1997. Part of the income from the tickets is intended for scholarships for the users of the Association.
  • In the first six months, the Association successfully implemented the project "Learning about human rights" in partnership with the Institute for Special Education and Child Education "Mjedenica", from a grant from the Ministry of Civil Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
  • The Executive Director visited the Mayor of Sarajevo, Mr. Alija Behmen, and on that occasion the City accepted the patronage of the Association and the "Monograph 1994-2009" for fifteen years.

  • Jovan Divjak, executive director of the Association, signed the Cooperation Agreement between the Sarajevo Canton Government and civil society organizations for the establishment of an institutional mechanism for the improvement of dialogue and partnership cooperation.

2009.

  • The association implemented several projects this year, the most important of which are: "Overcoming post-traumatic syndrome through psychosocial assistance, education and creative development", "Learning about human rights", "With education for the future", Calendar - 2008, "Mine, yours, our BiH" and Calendar - 2009 "Young people want to Europe".
  • Thanks to the French organization Emmaus, Grenoble also this year distributed aid in the form of 200 packages of school supplies and 120 packages of clothing to members of the Association and citizens of poor material conditions.
  • We donated furniture to the Institutions "Pazarić" and "Drin", Fojnica, the Roma community in Visoko and vulnerable residents.
  • In 2008, 18,000 copies of calendars with children's drawings were printed, and from the generated income funds were provided for scholarships for 47 children of war victims, talented and disabled children.
  • In July 2008, we organized a summer vacation at Boračko Lake for 124 members of the Association, 79 members of NGOs that take care of the social aspects of the users, and 85 scouts from Belgium and Spain.
  • Ten children spent their summer in the Republic of Croatia.
  • From the publishing and artistic activities, the most important are the printing and sale of the books "In the world of children's justice" by Velimir Milošević and the photo monograph "Goodbye Bosnia, I'm going to Sarajevo" by Frank Levasseur.
  • The association organized an exhibition of paintings by Slobodan Boba Perišić, and the proceeds were intended for scholarships.

2008.

  • The calendar for 2007, entitled "Education, Youth and Technology", was printed in 20,000 copies and generated income for 54 annual scholarships.
  • Summer vacations were organized for 265 users and members of the Association, 89 members of non-governmental organizations and institutions from Bosnia and Herzegovina that take care of the social aspects of users and 26 participants from Belgium, which is 144 participants more than in 2006.
  • Visits with 44 participants were organized to the Center "Gaudeamus" Bratislava, Slovakia.
  • A one-day trip to Dubrovnik was organized with 40 participants.
  • Furniture was donated to the Institute "Drin", Fojnica and the Institute "Pazarić".
  • We accepted a donation of a Mitsubishi all-terrain vehicle from the OSCE.
  • In cooperation with the Municipality of Stari Grad, the Association participated in the action of cleaning the Bentbaša - Kozija ćuprija promenade in April.

2007.

  • On June 17, 2006, the 9th session of the Assembly of the Association was held in the hall of the Municipality of Stari Grad.

  • Two pamphlets about the Association were produced, a letter-leaflet was printed for a donation to the Association and distributed through BH Post in 490,000 copies.
  • We sent more than 2,000 letters of invitation for the auction of paintings and the purchase of calendars, and for the VIII Assembly of the Association.
  • We technically processed and delivered or sent 18,000 copies of application forms to the addresses of members of the Association.

  • We visited and presented our mission in partner organizations in Italy, France, Belgium and Spain.
  • In the premises of the Association, discussions were held with over 300 citizens, journalists and friends of the Association on matters of material assistance and the work of the Association.
  • Significant help in the work of the Association is provided by 10-15 scholarship holders who, with over 7,000 hours of voluntary work, raised the efficiency of the staff to a higher level.

2006.

  • The calendar for the year 2005 was printed in 20,000 copies under the title "Education, youth and nature" and its sale provided income for 42 annual scholarships.
  • The work plan of the Management Board was fully implemented
  • The work of the Association in the reporting period was entirely in accordance with the mission "Children of war victims - our permanent concern".
  • The working staff consisted of one employee in the permanent position of technical secretary, three employees in casual positions, an executive director, a financial accountant, a housekeeper and 58 members of the Association in the function of project management.

  • In the reporting period, the Association significantly intensified program and project activities with the aim of collecting funds for scholarships, education, summer vacations and securing educational and other needs for all user groups.
  • From donations, through educational institutions, we contributed to better material and technical equipment of schools in Bosnia and Herzegovina and citizens' associations, and through institutions that take care of socially vulnerable categories, we helped other users to overcome unfavorable personal and family economic and social situations in the short term.

2005.

  • 10 years of work of the Association "Education Builds BiH" were marked, during which more than 700 children and young victims of war were awarded scholarships.
  • The project "Philanthropy for the Future" was implemented, which aimed to develop a culture of philanthropy among citizens.
  • With the financial support of USAID and the technical assistance of UMCOR Bosnia, through membership, photo and painting auctions and other activities, significant funds for scholarships were provided.
  • Organized summer holidays for 210 children and young people in Croatia, Germany and Bosnia Herzegovina.
  • Our users also participated in the project "12. relay of peace and friendship" within which they visited 5 European countries.
  • In order to collect financial resources for scholarships, Ibrica Jusić held a donor concert.
    Pop artists of Tuzla Canton also supported the scholarship of our users by holding a donor concert.
  • The project "Psychosocial and creative workshops for children, young people and parents/guardians" was successfully implemented with the financial support of the Catholic Committee against Hunger and for Development from France.
  • The eighth Assembly was held in two parts. In the first, working part, the Assembly made a decision to initiate the procedure for adoption of the statute, and adopted work reports. In the second part, the Ceremonial Academy dedicated to the tenth anniversary of the existence and work of the Association was held.
  • The calendar entitled "We love Bosnia and Herzegovina" was printed in 18,000 copies, and its sale generated income for 57 annual scholarships.

2004.

  • The activities in this year were in the function of achieving the mission and program tasks of the Association.
  • The management board based its work on the Statute, the Association's work program for the period 2002-2004. and the Board's Work Plan for 2003.
  • A concrete contribution of the members was achieved through the sale of calendars and cooperation with foreign organizations: "Swiss help for peace in Bosnia", Switzerland; “Emmaus”, France; "Sea Star", Croatia; "Agnes B", France; then the local "BH women's initiative", Sarajevo; Detachment of Scouts "Neretva", Mostar; Union of Boy Scouts of Sarajevo Canton and representatives of the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Government of Sarajevo Canton and the City of Sarajevo.
  • The staff has completed more than 250 tasks since June.

  • At the seventh session of the assembly, the Decision on the registration of the Association at the level of Bosnia and Herzegovina as well as the Statute was adopted, among other things.
  • Nediljko Bilić was elected chairman of the Assembly, while Mehmed Agić, Redžad Ćatić, Fejsal Hrustanović, Almir Hodžić, Veljko Droca, Ibrahim Koluder and Silvana Marić were elected as members of the Board of Directors. The following were elected to the Supervisory Board: Jagoda Bejtić, Milomir-Mile Plakalović and Mirsada Bilalić.
  • This year, 59 children and young people stayed in Croatia, France and on Lake Boračko.
  • Our users were participants in the International Peace and Friendship Relay.

2002.

  • During the year, the Management Board held five sessions, often on the edge of a quorum. Therefore, among the active members, in order to be efficient in performing the management role, the prevailing opinion was to propose to the Assembly of the Association to reduce the number of Board members from 15 to 7.
  • In November, the association moved to the "International Center for Children and Youth in Novo Sarajevo" building, due to significantly lower rent and more favorable working conditions.
  • In the school year 2001/2002. 215 scholarship holders were awarded scholarships: 81 students, 98 high school students and 36 elementary school students.
  • As part of the summer vacation project, 132 children with 10 companions stayed in Croatia, France, Spain, Canada, Boračko Lake and Bugojno. The estimated value of invested donor funds for the summer vacation was about 54,800 KM.
  • From the donations, school supplies, sports equipment and other material needs in the value of about 85,000 KM were distributed.
  • The association helped the work of primary schools: "Hasan Kikić" Sarajevo, "Solun" Olovo, "Čengić Vila" Sarajevo and "Hrasno" Sarajevo with donations, teaching aids, school supplies and computers.
  • In cooperation with the German Heinrich Boll Foundation, 14 students received scholarships and 14,000 KM was provided for the organization of round tables and seminars.
  • In cooperation with the Austrian organization "Hilfswerk" Austria, the Association organized an IT course for officials and returnees in the Municipality of Ilijaš.
  • Through the USAID - ORT project, cooperation was achieved with 18 non-governmental organizations from Bosnia and Herzegovina.
  • The city of Sarajevo, the municipalities of Centar and Stari Grad supported scholarship projects and publishing activities. The Municipality of Novo Sarajevo significantly contributed to the financial stability of the Association by lowering the price of the rented workspace.
  • Cooperation with the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports of Sarajevo Canton continued.

2001.

  • The work program of the Association consists of 20 tasks through which permanent scholarship projects, procurement of school supplies and sports equipment, as well as summer vacations for children of war victims will be implemented.
  • Within the framework of the USAID project "Democratic Network Program", the internal organization was adapted according to international standards of organization and operation of non-governmental organizations. This project also defines the mission of the Children of War Victims Association - our permanent care.
  • The Sixth Session of the Assembly of the Association was also held.
  • In addition to the Work Report from the previous year, the Work Program, the Income and Expenditure Plan for the year 2000, the Assembly also adopted a decision on amendments to the Association's Statute. The most significant changes relate to the strengthening of the management role of the Board of Directors and the establishment of the position of executive director instead of the previous position of president.
  • At the first constitutive session of the Board of Directors, Ibrahim Koluder was elected as president and Mehmed Agić as vice president. Jovan Divjak was elected as the executive director of the Association.
  • At the beginning of the 2000/2001 school year. In 2016, the Association awarded scholarships to 216 beneficiaries, namely 70 students, 110 high school students and 36 elementary school students.   • Summer holidays for 123 children and young people were organized in Croatia, France, Germany, Luxembourg, Belgium, Italy and in our homeland. The costs of these trips were estimated at 56,9000 KM.
  • From the Masters per Bosnia donation from Spain, 250 sets of school supplies and 280 bags with school supplies, received from the Greek SFOR battalion, were distributed.

2000.

  • On January 27, 1999, the Ministry of Justice of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina submitted one copy of the Statute of the Association certified in accordance with Article 11, paragraph 3 of the Rulebook on the Forms and Method of Keeping the Register of Citizens' Maintenance (Official Gazette of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina).
  • In less than five years of existence, the professional service had at its disposal appropriate premises, office furniture and office equipment worth a total of 19,000 KM.
  • At the end of 1999, the Association had 193 scholarship recipients, of which: 82 students, 85 high school students and 26 elementary school students.
  • Funds for 34 scholarships were provided from our own funds, mostly through the sale of calendars for the year 2000, so that in the school year 1999/2000. a total of 227 pupils and students received scholarships.The functional costs of the Association were financially supported by: Mr. and Mrs. Khan from England, Libralije Galrec, Center for Social Work of Sarajevo Canton, Patrik R.   • As part of the celebration of the 5th anniversary, an exhibition of paintings by Nada Dimić and Milan Jakšić from Pančevo was organized. From the 22 paintings sold, an income of 7,000 KM was generated for scholarships.
  • At the end of the year, the Association had 546 members, which is 36 more than in 1998.

1999.

  • During this year, funds were provided for 212 annual scholarships, namely for 106 students, 76 high school students and 30 elementary school students.
  • By selling the calendar for 1998, the Foundation secured 41 scholarships.
  • 8,000 children from the entire Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina were helped with donations of school supplies, sports equipment and various goods worth 546,490 KM.
  • The donors who made this possible are the Embassy of the Republic of France in Sarajevo, La Benevolentcija, "Love in Action" USA, "Solidarite" France, ISC Sarajevo, Radio Libertas Denmark, "Samaritan Purse" USA, "Brits Aid For" England, Maruf Mrzić from of the Netherlands and Caritas Sarajevo.
  • 150 children spent their summer holidays in France, Luxembourg, Austria and on Lake Boračko, with the help of the Foundation's donors.
  • At the end of 1998, the Foundation "Education Builds BiH" had 510 members, which is an increase from the previous year.
  • The fifth Assembly was held in the Sarajevo Police House with the presence of 258 members and guests. The Assembly adopted a decision on amendments to the Statute of the Foundation, by which the name of the Foundation is changed to: Citizens' Association Education builds BiH.
